Viasat Broadcasting, a wholly owned subsidiary of Modern Times Group (MTG), signed content deals to boost its direct-to-home and Internet protocol television packages in the Nordic and Baltic regions.

Viasat is bringing four new television channels: E! Entertainment Television, Toon Disney, Cartoon Network and TCM to its premium pay-television offerings. These additions follow deals with E! Entertainment Television, Disney and Turner. T he E! Entertainment and Toon Disney channels will launch in August and TCM and Cartoon Network will launch in September.

In a further boost for its content line-up, MTG announced a deal to carry news channel CNN International for an extra three years.
