Aeroastro, a microsatellite technology provider, announced it won a contract from Globalstar LLC for seven appliqués intended to bolster the performance of Aeroastro’s Sensor Enabled Notification System.

The appliqués receive and decode remote sensing data received via satellite from field transmitters and is an add-on to existing Globalstar ground stations. The Aeroastro/Globalstar Simplex Data communication system provides coverage in the United States, Canada, Europe and the Middle East.

Installation of the appliqués will expand the system’s coverage area. Globalstar is finalizing the location of the appliqués, with installation scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2006.
