Echostar Communications Corp. appointed of Michael Neuman as the president and COO, the company announced June 20. In these positions, he will oversee day-to-day operations of Echostar.

Neuman most recently served as president of Bell Canada Enterprises subsidiary Bell Mobility, leading the wireless carrier to the most profitable growth in its 19-year history. Neuman also has served as president of Bell Expressvu Satellite Television.

Echostar also appointed Carl Vogel as vice chairman, where he will focus on financial and strategic initiatives. Vogel has been with the Echostar board of directors since May and most recently served as president and CEO of Charter Communications. Previously, he held various senior executive positions with companies affiliated with Liberty Media Corp.

Echostar also formally announced the launch of Traders Television Network on its Dish Network direct-to-home satellite television service. The channel, which began broadcasting June 1, provides Dish subscribers with 11 hours of live programming every trading day that tracks trends in the currency and equity markets using specialized trend analysis software. Traders Television is available for $495 per month or $99 per month when subscribers purchase qualifying software.
