France’s HD Forum Association announced the “HD-Ready” label has now been launched in France, which gives consumers a quality sign for the differentiation of display equipment capable of processing and displaying high definition (HD) programs.

The European HD Ready label offers the advantage of its unique and permanent nature. It is displayed on HD display devices that meet the specifications adopted by the EICTA (European Information & Communications Technology Industry Association) for the whole of Europe.

France is expected to be a very vibrant HDTV market, with the two satellite platforms CanalSat and TPS likely to be key players in developing this market.
