The re-entry module of the Foton-M2 spacecraft returned a batch of experiments to Earth June 16, the European Space Agency (ESA) announced.

Foton, launched May 31 from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, had been in low-Earth orbit for 16 days. The mission payload consisted of 39 experiments covering areas such as fluid physics, biology, crystal growth and exobiology.
