Pace Hooks Up Asian PVR Deal
Pace Micro Technology signed two new set-top box deals in Asia, including a key PVR (Personal Video Recorder) deal in New Zealand.
The company signed a deal with New Zealand’s leading pay-TV operator, Sky Network Television Ltd., to supply set-top boxes for New Zealand’s first PVR service. Pace will deliver the PVR units later this year and will continue to supply the units into 2007.
Martin Wrigley, director of operations at Sky said, “We are giving subscribers the flexibility to watch what they want, when they want and so further adding value to their viewing experience. From our ongoing relationship with Pace it was clear that they were the obvious choice to work with us to be sure of a smooth and successful roll-out.”
In separate news, Pace has announced that it has signed another deal with Galaxy Satellite Broadcasting Ltd. to supply subscribers of Supersun, the pay-TV service of Galaxy in Hong Kong, with Pace’s latest Asia-Pacific STB, the DC235.
