Orbital Sciences Corp. announced June 10 that the Telkom-2 communications satellite is being brought back to its Dulles, Va., satellite manufacturing facility for repairs. The satellite will undergo evaluation and tests to determine the root cause of a power supply anomaly that was detected while the spacecraft was being prepared in Kourou, French Guiana, for launch. The decision to return the satellite to Orbital’s facility was made in agreement with the satellite program’s customer, PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia.

Orbital’s Telkom-2 was scheduled for launch June 24 along with the Spaceway-2 satellite, and no new date has been set.
