Datapath Acquires M&C Assets, Captures $17.5 Million Army Contract
Datapath Inc. said June 13 it acquired the assets of M&C Systems Inc., a provider of satellite communications monitoring and control systems. With this acquisition, Datapath gains new control and monitoring capabilities for providing satellite earth terminals, transportables, VSATs and telemetry, tracking and control. Datapath will draw on these technologies to expand its end-to-end satellite terminal network and system management offerings.
In a separate announcement, Datapath said the U.S. Army awarded the company a $17.5 million contract for 14 Joint Network Node Satellite Communications Trailers and 38 Satellite Communication Battalion Command Post Node Trailers. The trailers are built on two customized versions of Datapath’s ET Model 3000 Portable for battlefield communications. The 3000 model is a trailer-based satellite terminal that enables communications in remote locations inaccessible by larger mobile terminals. The system provides a mobile satellite telecommunications platform configurable for operation in C-, Ku-, Ka- and X-bands.
