U.K. satellite pay-TV operator BSkyB won a key soccer contract in the United Kingdom, signing a new three-year contract with the English Football League to broadcast the matches through the 2007-2008 season. The league comprises three divisions below the Premiership, the major league in England. Under the new agreement, Sky Sports will broadcast around 100 live matches per season. The deal extends BskyB’s partnership established with the English Football League in 1995.
