The government of New South Wales in Australia purchased imagery from the French Spot series of satellites, Spot Image announced June 7.

Under the deal with Raytheon Australia, which holds an exclusive contract to distribute Spot imagery in Australia, the New South Wales government will acquire 843,000 square kilometers of 2.5-meter imagery collected by the Spot 5 satellite.

The New South Wales Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources will use the imagery for management of infrastructure, emergency response and natural resources.
