Satellite control software developed by Harris Corp. has assumed control of the Quickbird commercial imagery satellite owned and operated by Digitalglobe, Harris announced June 6.

Harris installed its OS/Comet-based Satellite Control Center for Digitalglobe under a contract awarded in March 2004. The software also will be used to operate the Worldview satellite Digitalglobe is developing under a contract from the U.S. National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency

Details of the contract were not released.
