Russia announced it is preparing to launch an English-language television news broadcasting service targeted at foreign viewers around the globe. The new 24-hour news channel, named Russia Today TV, will be broadcast in Russia, Europe, the United States, former Soviet republics and a number of Asian countries. The channel is expected to begin broadcasting later this summer.
