EMS Satcom, a division of EMS Technologies Inc. announced that Turkey selected the company’s system for its search-and-rescue (SAR) operations. The contract is valued at approximately $1.2 million.
The SAR system purchased by Turkey includes SARMaster rescue coordination centers in four locations, two COSPAS-SARSAT low earth orbit satellite ground stations, a geostationary satellite station and primary and backup mission control centers.
The system provides incident logs and geospatial data, resources and reports coupled with real-time data feeds to provide information SAR operations. Commissioning of the ground stations is underway and full operations will begin this summer, EMS said.
