Telesat signed a multiyear agreement with ViaSat Inc. to purchase DOCSIS-for-satellite Ka-band consumer terminals. The terminals, which use a networking technology that utilizes satellite bandwidth more efficiently to lower the cost of broadband service. include satellite modems and Ka-band transceivers from US Monolithics. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
