Asia Satellite Telecommunications Co. Ltd. (AsiaSat) said LBiSat LLC signed a new lease agreement for the use of C-band capacity on AsiaSat 2. Specifics on how much capacity was leased and the value and the length of the lease were not disclosed. LBiSat, a teleport operator and services provider, will use the capacity to offer its customers services across AsiaSat 2’s C-band footprint that covers more than 50 countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

“With AsiaSat 2’s landmass coverage, we are able to provide our satellite services to the entire Asian continent,” said LBiSat Executive Vice President Rodger Lyman in a prepared statement.
