Sirius Announces Latest Deals With Auto Manufacturers
Sirius Satellite Radio said receivers for its satellite radio service would be offered in Jaguar, Land Rover and Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
Land Rover plans to offer Sirius in its 2006 model year Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles. Those models will be available to the public beginning in July. The receivers will display artist, song title and category when playing in Sirius mode and will have a touch screen interface.
Jaguar will offer Sirius receivers as a dealer-installed option for four 2005 model year vehicles: X-Type, X-Type Wagon, S-Type and XJ Sedan. Jaguar also is planning to offer Sirius as a post-installed option on the same models for the 2006 model year.
Mercedes-Benz USA will offer Sirius receivers as a factory-installed option on its next-generation M-Class sport utility vehicles, as well as on six other 2006 model year vehicles and four 2007 model year vehicles.
