EMS Technologies Inc. said it signed an agreement with Putian-Linkcom to provide DVB-RCS products and services in China. The exclusive, long-term agreement between the two companies covers the installation of a DVB-RCS hub in Beijing to provide domestic coverage across China for demonstration purposes; the development, manufacturing and sourcing of local components for DVB-RCS systems; the development and validation of applications for the Chinese market; and local support, repair and maintenance of DVB-RCS systems. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“China is a strategically important market, and we conducted a deliberate and extensive search for a strong local partner in China,” said Don Osborne, senior vice-president and general manager of EMS Satellite Networks in a prepared statement. “We are pleased to have concluded this agreement with a partner of Putian-Linkcom’s caliber and reputation.”
