Former SES Americom CEO Dean Olmstead yesterday formally introduced his new company, Satellite Development LLC, at the SATELLITE 2005 conference and exhibition. The company is described in a press release as “an opportunity-driven firm formed to identify and exploit unrealized potential or create new opportunities in which satellites are or can become a meaningful element of the value chain. Satellite Development finds, facilitates or incubates growth through new starts, acquisitions mergers, joint ventures and investments. Satellite Development will not become a new satco, though it may hold and operate spacecraft for clients and affiliates as part of a development or rationalization initiative.”
