Boeing said it is prepping the first of three Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites (GOES)-N it manufactured for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration for shipment to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida for the spacecraft’s May 2005 scheduled launch date. The satellite is based on the Boeing 601 platform. It will be launched into orbit on a Delta 4 rocket.
