As reported by China Daily‘s Web site, four Chinese companies, which united under the firm China Galileo Industries Ltd., will represent China in the European Union’s Galileo satellite navigation project. China Galileo Industries consists of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corp., China Electronics Technology Group Corp., China Satcom, and the Chinese Academy of Space Technology. According to the report, the firms will build an intelligent transport system based on the navigation data provided by the forthcoming Galileo spacecraft. The report did not disclose any financial commitments made by China Galileo Industries to the EU for its participation.
