Sirius Satellite Radio said that beginning with 2007 racing season, it would start broadcasting Nascar races live, including all races from the Nextel Cup, Busch Series and Craftsman Truck series, on a newly created Nascar channel. The channel will broadcast the races and other racing related content 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As part of the agreement, Sirius will become the official satellite radio partner of Nascar. Sirius will pay Nascar rights fees totaling $107.5 million throughout the term of the agreement, with the highest payments in the final years of the five-year term. Sirius also gets the rights to sell all advertising time on its Nascar channel during race broadcasts.
