Sea Launch Postpones XM-3 Launch
At press time, Sea Launch said it was postponing the launch of the XM-3 satellite for XM Satellite Radio until Feb. 17 at 7:53 p.m. PST due to rough sea conditions at its equatorial launch platform at 154 degrees West, giving the launch a 24-hour delay from its original schedule.
A Zenit-3SL rocket will deliver the satellite to orbit, and the XM-3 will eventually come to rest at 85 degrees West. XM-3 was manufactured by Boeing and is based on that company’s 702 platform.
