Star One CEO Expects Solid 2005 Profits
Star One CEO Edson Soffiatti believes the operator is in a strong position to achieve financial success in 2005 despite intense competition and transponder pricing pressure within the Latin American communications markets. The satellite operator has a strong presence in Brazil and is looking to play more of a role across other territories in the region.
Soffiatti told Satellite Today, “The company is in a very healthy financial position. We have had strong revenues and profit in 2004 and we are expecting again similar results in 2005. Even though we now have four satellites, which are more than 90 percent full, there is a good revenue stream. Obviously, we have two new satellites under construction and we have to manage its finance. However the business plan is very comfortable.”
