United Kingdom television news supplier ITN has selected the Norsat Newslink terminal to enable live and timely news broadcasts of breaking news stories from around the world. The Newslink terminal is optimized for satellite newsgathering operations and can be deployed on short notice. Malcolm Smith, head of operational engineering at ITN, said in a prepared statement that the terminal “can be checked in as baggage on a commercial airliner and we will be able to start using it as soon as we arrive at a location.” Financial terms of the terminal purchase were not disclosed.
