Tachyon Networks Inc. said it appointed Peter Carides as its president and CEO.

“The hiring of Peter Carides is the latest and most significant step in positioning Tachyon for strategic growth,” Erik Anderson, chairman of Tachyon’s board of directors said in a prepared statement. “Peter brings a wealth of experience with fast-growing companies and deep knowledge of the global telecommunications marketplace, particularly in the satellite and wireless sectors.”

Carides most recently served as the vice president of Equant Inc. where he led that company’s satellite and wireless division. He also has served as COO of Advanced Remote Communications Solutions.
