The DirecTV Group Inc. said it has named Evan Grayer to be the vice president of broadband. Grayer will be responsible for evaluating broadband options for DirecTV and executing the strategy going forward. He has held business development roles prior to joining DirecTV, most recently at Time Warner Cable.

“Evan brings to DirecTV a vast array of experience in multi-channel television, high-speed Internet and wireless services,” DirecTV President and CEO Chase Carey said in a prepared statement. “His in-depth knowledge of the broadband market will undoubtedly serve DirecTV well as we address the role broadband will play in our business going forward.”
