PrediWave Corp. said that PiTV selected its interactive broadcast TV platform for PiTV’s satellite television service. PiTV will leverage PrediWave’s technologies to deploy services such as digital video recording, video-on-demand and interactive shopping. The services can be rolled out in an incremental fashion.

“We are extremely impressed by PrediWave’s video broadcast platform,” PiTV Chief Technology Officer Neil Neih said in a prepared statement. “With the new platform and large satellite footprint, we will bring personal interactive TV to a largely untapped market not well understood by the traditional broadcasters.” PiTV delivers Asia-centric content via satellite to U.S. households.
