PolarSat said that is has shipped 15.8 tons of VSAT equipment to the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China. The shipment is the first delivery on a contract that, in total, is currently valued at $12 million. The actual value of the shipment was not disclosed.
The equipment shipped includes PolarSat’s VSATPlus II product line, which provides a full mesh, hubless network with no single point of failure. The network supports voice, low- and high-speed data, video conferencing and fax applications. According to the company, the shipment was produced in record time following the contract’s signature on Sept. 17, 2004.
