The Satellite Industry Association welcomed The DirecTV Group Inc. and Stratos Global Corp. as associate members in 2005. As associate members, the two companies have an opportunity to participate in a broad spectrum of working groups covering important issues facing the satellite industry, including regulatory, trade and export controls.

“Stratos and DirecTV are two of the leading companies in their respective industry sectors and we look forward to the contributions they will make to SIA’s issue agenda and overall strength in representing all sectors of the commercial satellite industry,” Tony Trujillo, SIA chairman and executive vice president of Intelsat Ltd. said in a prepared statement.
