Lockheed Martin Prepares NOAA Satellite For March 19 Launch

The Lockheed Martin-built NOAA-N satellite arrived at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California and is undergoing final testing and launch processing for its scheduled March 19 launch on a Boeing Delta 2 rocket, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration said.

The satellite is the latest satellite in the Advanced Television Infrared Observational Satellites-N series and will provide a polar orbiting platform to support environmental monitoring instruments for imaging and measuring of the Earth’s atmosphere, its surface and cloud cover for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
