TU Media Corp., a joint venture between SK Telecom and Toshiba Corp., is to begin trials of its new service to deliver satellite broadcasts to mobile phones. According to a Jan. 7 report on the Information Week Web site, the service will deliver up to 39 channels–11 video, 25 audio and 3 data. SK Telecom will reportedly charge a one-time subscription fee of $17 and a recurring monthly fee of $12 and is predicting the new service will attract 1.5 million subscribers by 2006 and 8 million by 2010.
