Dow Jones is reporting today that Spanish highway operator Abertis wants to buy a stake in Spanish satellite operator Hispasat. The report noted that no agreement has been reached yet, but quoted an Abertis spokeswoman as saying the company would want to have an active management role if it were to purchase a stake in Hispasat. No word was given as to which of Hispasat’s owners is looking to sell any or all of its interest. Eutelsat is the Hispasat’s main shareholder, holding 27.7 percent of the company. Other owners include Auna Group, Telefonica SA and Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentina SA.
