Weida Communications Inc. today said Guangzhou Weida Communications Technology Co. Ltd. (which Weida has control of and a majority profit-sharing interest in) has entered into an agreement with China Telecom, which will lease Weida satellite links and equipment for China Petro’s West-East Natural Gas Transportation project. Weida said the number of satellite terminals to be leased as part of the project will total more than 15,000 by completed in 2007. Financial terms of the lease deal were not disclosed.
