EchoStar Communications Corp. today said its Dish Network direct-to-home satellite television service has added South Asia World, a 24-hour news and infotainment channel dedicated to South Asians living in the United States, to its international programming line-up. Dish subscribers can add South Asia World on an a la carte basis for $4.99 per month or they can get one month free if they pay for an annual subscription to the channel upfront. A minimum subscription to America’s Top 60 or Dish Latino also is required.

In a separate announcement, EchoStar said it is now offering the local affiliates of ABC, CBS and NBC to Dish Network subscribers in Meridian, MS. With this addition, Dish said it now offers local channel service to 152 markets covering 93 percent of U.S. television households.
