DirecTV Inc. Dec. 6 said that, starting on the DEC. 7, the direct-to-home satellite television service provider would offer SKY TG24, an Italian news channel. The channel would be available to residential and commercial DirecTV subscribers on an a la carte basis for $9.99 per month.

SKY TG24 is an Italian channel dedicated entirely to news with live news features every 30 minutes. The station, which is broadcast from Rome, also will carry in-depth features and reports, in-studio debates and on weekends, sports coverage including coverage of the Italian Football Championship.
