The Aerospace Industry Association predicts that the sales in the aerospace industry’s space segment will continue to increase in 2005. At the association’s annual aerospace industry review and forecast luncheon, the president estimated the space segment would rake in $40.9 billion (in current dollars) in sales in 2005, up from the projected $38.3 billion in sales in 2004. Sales in the space segment have been growing year after year since 2002. The estimated sales from the space industry represent about 24 percent of the $172.8 billion in total sales in the aerospace industry in 2005.
