Stratos Global Corp. reported net earnings for the third quarter ended Sept. 30 of $9.2 million, up from the net earnings of $7.1 million earned in the third quarter of 2003. The increase was reported despite a 4-percent dip in the company’s revenues to $91.2 million from $95.1 million reported during the same period one year ago. The company cited a reduction in government and military spending as a reason for the drop, but noted it was seeing strong demand for new products and services, including its StratosITek IP VSAT product for the oil and gas sector.
