Conax Inks Second Key China Agreement

Conax, the Norway-based Conditional Access (CA) supplier, signed its second key contract in China through its partnership with Star Communication Network Technology (STAR). STAR is Conax’ strategic partner in the market, promoting and selling Conax’ CA technology to cable operators in the northern provinces of China. The latest contract comes on the heels of a deal STAR signed with Binzhou Broadcasting & TV Network Company (BBT) of the Shandong province.

It has been a busy time for Conax. In August, it appointed Ernst Thue as its new CEO. The company also launched its new CA system earlier this month, the CAS7 system at IBC. The Conax CAS7 supports all CA functions, from classic subscription via PPV and pairing to ordering of and payment for content via mobile-phone SMS.
