Inmarsat D+ satellite terminal, airtime and services provider SkyWave Mobile Communications Inc. said the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved a 15- year license to expand operations of the Ottawa-based company into the United States. The company was the first to offer Inmarsat D+ services to U.S. government agencies, cutting over service in 1999. The expansion allows the company to offer its services commercially, allowing U.S.-based companies to monitor assets both domestically and internationally.
