Loral Space & Communications [LRLSQ]reports the Telstar 18 satellite completed its in-orbit testing and is now fully operational. The satellite had some initial troubles after being dropped into a lower-than-expected orbit after its June 28 launch. The satellite is operated by Loral Skynet, and it will provide communications services across Asia. It carries 54 active transponders – 16 for the Ku-band and 38 for the C-band.
