Orbital Sciences Corp. [ORB] today reported growth in its revenues and net income for the second quarter ended June 30. Revenues rose 12 percent to $177.7 million in the second quarter from $158 million during the same period one year ago. The company’s net income rose to $11.1 million, up from a net loss of $4.6 million reported in the second quarter of 2003. Orbital Chairman and CEO David Thompson, in a press release, attributed these increases to growth in the company’s satellites and to related space-systems segments as well as to a strong quarter for the company’s launch-vehicles segment.
