Stratos Global Corp. today reported net income for the second quarter ended June 30 decreased to $5.4 million, compared with $8.2 million earned during the same quarter one year ago. Revenues during the same period decreased by 12 percent to $95.1 million, dipping from the company record of $108.2 million during the second quarter of 2003. However, Stratos said revenues were up 3 percent from the first quarter of this year. Officials noted that the company experienced peak demand related to the conflict in the Middle East for its VSAT and other telecommunications services during the second quarter.
