Officials from NovAtel Inc. [NGPS] said the European Patent Office upheld the company’s Narrow Correlator Tracking Technology patent (EP 0488739 B2), deeming the patent “valid.” Narrow Correlator tracking technology is a core global navigation satellite system technology that delivers an improved positioning accuracy, instantaneously and in real-time, NovAtel says. The patent was challenged in 1997, and NovAtel filed its appeal in 1999.
