Tachyon Networks Inc. officials yesterday said the company donated its patented, high-speed, carrier-grade satellite broadband network to the U.S. Army Europe and the Department of Defense (DoD) Dependent Schools-Europe to allow for the real-time transmission of high-school graduation ceremonies, allowing soldiers who are serving in Iraq the opportunity to view them. A total of 14 DoD high schools are involved in the initiative. Tachyon is donating its network bandwidth and remote- access satellite equipment to make the transmission possible.
