Officials from point-to-multipoint satellite service provider Microspace Communications yesterday said the first phase of its pilot digital cinema program with DreamWorks LLC was completed successfully with the delivery of the movie Shrek 2 via satellite to Galaxy Cinemas in Waterloo, Ontario. The digital film was delivered using Microspace’s Velocity satellite service. The next phase of the digital cinema program will involve the gradual increase of the number of theaters receiving digital films via satellite.
