Schlumberger Deploys Advanced Satellite Network to Newfield

Schlumberger Information Solutions has announced the successful implementation of a high-speed Internet Protocol-based network solution known as IPoVSAT to support communications for Newfield Exploration Company’s offshore oil and gas productions in the Gulf of Mexico. Financial terms were not disclosed. Schlumberger IPoVSAT technology will improve two-way e-mail and Internet-based communications across a satellite network.
