Telesat Canada Picks EADS Astrium For Anik F3 Satellite

      Telesat Canada, an Ottawa-based satellite operator, selected EADS Astrium, Europe’s largest space company, to build the proposed new Anik F3 satellite. Anik F3 would be Telesat’s 17th satellite launch on an International Launch Services Proton/Breeze rocket.

      When the spacecraft is launched in 2006, Anik F3 will provide a wide range of telecommunications, broadcasting, business and Internet-based services to users across North America.
