San Jose, Calif.-based semiconductor manufacturer Atmel [ATML] and Paris-based Parrot, a voice technologies company released the Parrot4 chipset to support in-vehicle Global Positioning System (GPS) and GSM/GPRS services. The new chipset is at the core of Parrot’s integrated approach to in-car telematics aimed at the automotive industry, company officials said.
