Sun Microsystems, Inmarsat Ink Mobile Deal

Sun Microsystems [SUNW], a Santa Clara, Calif.-based provider of Java technology, has been chosen by Inmarsat to provide its Sun Java Enterprise System as the business support infrastructure for a new broadband satellite communications network. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Starting in 2005, Inmarsat’s new Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) service will provide mobile data communications as fast as 432 Kbps for Internet access.
