Hughes, Gtech Ink Deals Worth $34 Million

Hughes Network Systems signed three new contracts with Gtech [GTK] worth more than $34 million to deliver and install two new DirecWay hubs. The hubs will be located in Austin, Texas, and in West Greenwich, R.I.
Additionally, Hughes will supply Gtech with 12,000 DW4020 satellite terminals along with associated hub and satellite services. The DW4020 terminal provides enterprise customers with a fast, always-on broadband connection and operates as a self-hosted system, eliminating the need for a dedicated host PC, Hughes said. Gtech is a provider of transaction processing systems and services for the lottery industry.
